Scope: An interior renovation and addition to a home designed by Richard Neutra, one of the greatest architects of the 20th century.

Solution: After an in-depth analysis of the design intent, we found Neutra’s most important design philosophies to be connection with the site, natural lighting and scale of spaces. Based on historic documentation of the house, and Neutra’s drawings, we took as much as we could back to its original form. Alterations to meet the client’s needs were done as closely as we could understand Neutra’s design intent.

Architectural Thoughts: For this project we worked in collaboration with BCHO Architects. As a team we were honored to work on such a timeless piece of architecture and will carry these design principles into other projects. The home feels like it could have been built by contemporary architects in the past decade with timeless lines, scale of space and the natural lighting.
