JOHN MONTOYA, Partner
Architect / Project Manager
In rural Colorado where John grew up there’s not a lot to do if you don’t love the outdoors. This is where John perfected the art of exploring, and he has never stopped. After a several years of exploring South America and Europe out of a backpack, John arrived in Bozeman on what became a one way motorcycle trip exploring the rivers of the north. In the decade that followed, he received his Masters in Architecture, worked with international known architects and for one of the Northwest largest firms, CTA. Since 2002 John has designed and managed over $28 million in A&E fees and construction budget on a variety of project types. John and his teams continue to explore the craftsmanship of architectural design while focusing on client needs, budget and schedule.
Personally and professionally, John is passionate about community involvement, sustainable design and the creative arts. John volunteered for HATCH for nine years, sits on the SWMBIA Green Building board, teaches at MSU school of architecture and volunteers at local schools. John is a father of two, an avid biker, triathlete, skier, fisherman, hunter and a mean salsa chef.
